Who We Are

Al Ribat is a non-governmental, non-profit association based in Al Baddawi, Lebanon, operational since 2007. Al Ribat aims for a society that respects quality and acceptance of the other, using all its resources to achieve sustainable development goals. Al-Ribat is dedicated to promoting a culture of rights and preventing all types of discrimination through comprehensive awareness programs and activities targeting youth, women, and children. We also seek to foster acceptance of differences by bringing together youth and children from diverse backgrounds through cultural, artistic, and social activities in the regions of Baddawi and Minyeh. Our slogan, "The Great Meaning of Life is to Serve Humanity," encapsulates our commitment to service and community building. We engage a wide range of stakeholders, including donors, beneficiaries, team members (employees and volunteers), board members, advisors, local authorities, ministries, other NGOs, and international NGOs, to ensure a collaborative approach to achieving our vision.

Our mission , vision and core values

History of Al Ribat
Association

Al Ribat association has a rich history of impactful projects and significant milestones since its inception. Founded in 2005 and officially registered in 2007, Al Ribat quickly became a prominent player in promoting sustainable development and social cohesion in Lebanon.

Key Milestones

2023

  • This year was marked by significant developments, including partnerships with AiCS, Flex, and Caritas, and the opening of its first kitchen, "Nakhet Bayt Al Matbakh," to support community initiatives. The association also embarked on its first agricultural project in Akkar, expanding its scope to include sustainable agriculture and food security.

2019

  • The association continued its collaboration with UNICEF on the MOVA f50 and the Back to the Future project, furthering its commitment to youth development.

2018

  • Al Ribat association launched its Volunteer Program in partnership with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), fostering a culture of volunteerism and community engagement

2017-2018

  • The first craft exhibition for women, "Lokmetna Cheghel Idna," was held, showcasing the talents and entrepreneurial spirit of local women. This period also saw the initiation of the "Back to the Future" project and the opening of new centers.

2016

  • Marked the opening of a second center, increasing the association’s ability to serve more community members.

2013

  • Al Ribat launched its first vocational training project in collaboration with the Business Incubation Association in Tripoli (BIAT), providing essential skills to improve employment opportunities for the local population.

2012

  • The association expanded its reach by partnering with the international non-governmental organization (INGO) World Aid Save, enhancing its capacity to deliver impactful programs.

2009-2012

  • Al Ribat successfully implemented its first major project with the support of OTI-USAID's, focusing on community development and empowerment
